New Mahindra Scorpio Ready to Set Foot in the US
Mahindra and Mahindra had been planning to enter the US passenger vehicle market since long. The plans are finally falling into shape as the new upgraded model of Mahindra Scorpio is ready to be launched in the US market. The new model meets all the US safety norms and is heavily re-engineered to suit the American tastes and style.
According M&M Chief, Pawan Goenka, the US is the top target for the company but it also has its expansion plans lined up for European nations. "We want to be a global player in utility vehicles," he said. He also added further that the company may think of manufacturing vehicles in the US if volumes are good.
M&M is also rumoured to be working on a new Scorpio which will be a highly sophisticated model with monocoque-chassis 4x4, a first for Mahindra. Goenka also stated that the company does not want to compete in the sedan segment. "We never intend to be in passenger cars on our own. It's too crowded and competitive a market," he said.
