New Hyundai Santa Fe – International Model
The updated version of Hyundai Santa Fe goes on sale in the UK market from January 2010. The latest model of Hyundai Santa Fe has been updated with a more powerful diesel engine, reduced CO2 emissions and lower entry-level pricing for the UK market. The entry level model comes with only two trims but plenty of standard equipments like reversing sensors, 17” alloy wheels and stability control. The UK model is available with only one engine option – 2.2L CRDi diesel engine. The new direct injection 'R' diesel engine offers 194bhp with 436 Nm of torque which represents a 26 percent increase in power over the previous model, and makes the Santa Fe capable of 0-100 kmph in 9.8 seconds.
Fuel consumption on the manual has improved to 17.25 kmpl, while a new six-speed automatic achieves 16.65 kmpl with five seats, and 16.24 kmpl with seven seats. The alternator management system disengages when engine is not in use and helps in reducing fuel consumption and increasing the mileage.
Hyundai Santa Fe is the most popular SUV in the Hyundai product portfolio which is India-bound as well. Hyundai is planning to bring Santa Fe to India since long but had postponed its launch due to economic crisis and tough market conditions. Now the company plans to introduce the model soon in India as well.
