New Honda Entry Level Bike Coming Up at Delhi Auto Expo 2010

10 November, 2009, 10:10 IST by Satish Kalepu

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India limited plans to launch a new 110 cc bike at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The new bike equipped with 110cc engine will be the first entry-level bike from HMSCI and will be priced around Rs. 45,000. According to company officials, although the bike falls in 100cc segment, nevertheless it will feature sporty design and style.

“We are developing a new 110cc bike for India. It is the largest segment, and we want to tap this entry-level market with aggressive prices and innovative product. Our bike will be entirely different from the current breed of 100cc bikes,” said HMSI president and CEO Shinji Aoyama. “It would be a full-fledged bike at an attractive price. It is not going to be a commuter motorcycle just because it will be part of the 100cc plus segment. It will be sporty for sure but the direction in style is somewhat different,” he stated further.

Honda had been facing labour issues at its Manesar plant and is contemplating options to set up a new manufacturing facility in Haryana or completely out of the state. "Though there is no concrete action regarding a new factory, we have started a study on the issue," said Aayoma.

You can think of starting the manufacturing unit in the state of Karnataka and at Dharwad or Belgaum in Karnataka which is a better option from labour point of view and pleasent climatic condition. I personally being from Industries and Commerce department Government of Karnataka I can use my good officeses in this regard if you desire.
Thankyou
