New Facelifted Ford Ranger with Rugged Looks
Ford has given an updated rugged look to its model Ford Ranger along with other cosmetic changed to give it a face lift. Now the new Ford Ranger comes with two seat single cab, a four seat super cab or a five seat double cab. All this is combined with a sportier look at the front and the rear. All models of Ford Ranger are powered by 2.5L diesel engines where as Double cab model is also available with 3.0L diesel option. 3.0L variant also features five speed automatic gearbox but the 2.5L variants can be ordered with manual as well as automatic transmission. Ford Ranger is a capable of achieving 0-100 kmph in 10.4 seconds and can attain a top speed of 169 kmph.
Ford has been experiencing a slump in its sales of pickup trucks. Last month, it experienced 48 percent slump in its sales volumes as compared to September 2008. Ford spokesman George Pipas said Ranger sales enjoyed big year-over-year gains in July and August, due in large part to the cash for clunkers program. Ford plant in St. Paul, Minnesota is expected to run steadily for next three months this year. This plant is slated for a shut down by 2011.
