Bajaj Renault had earlier announced that they will be introducing their first ULC (Ultra Low Cost) model in the Indian car market by 2011. The company is now ready to introduce the first prototype by early 2011. According to the reports, the price of the car will be cheaper than Nano and will be extremely value for money.
The ULC project has been continuously delayed earlier owing to the difference between the partners when finally a consensus was reached that Bajaj will be responsible for design and development of the car while Nissan-Renault will market and promote the car under their brand name.
On the other hand, Renault has plans to permanently settle down on Indian shores as an independent brand. It intends to launch five new models in India in next two years, and has a goal of 75,000 Sales of Renault vehicles in India in 2013. Despite the relative failure of the Logan in India, the French group intends to expand its offering in what will likely be a market equivalent to that of China within the next few years.

Glad to read about such a promising car in terms of cost and thrifty performance but there is something that bothers me. It is the overall exterior design, couldn´t Renault-Nissan hire an italian designer such as Pininfarina to do an absolutely great job for a car that will shurely be running around for decades as your "flag ship"?.
