Kolkata based Hindustan Motors launched Mitsubishi Outlander in India last week. Outlander forayed in the Indian market after testing the markets in North America, Japan, Australia, Canada and West Europe. According to CK Birla, Outlander has been launched in India “in keeping with the policy of offering the latest from the Mitsubishi stable to the Indian consumers."

"The Mitsubishi Outlander is a proven and globally successful SUV and it's a great pleasure to present the car in India,” added Tetsuro Aikawa, managing director (products, strategy and development group), Mitsubishi Motors.

The new Outlander is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine and has four-wheel drive. It offers a maximum power of 170 PS/6000 rpm and is equipped with a flat torque of 226 N-m/4100 rpm. Hindustan Motors has a total capacity of 44,000 units with three manufacturing units in India in MP, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal. Its new SUV is being assembled at its Tiruvallur plant near Chennai.

The cost of the new Outlander is Rs. 20.2 lakh and above. It is available in 7 vibrant colours namely Cascade White, Silver Dew, Sunrise Yellow, River Blue, Pasture Green, Twilight Red and New Moon Black.
