Mercedes-Benz, the German auto giant, has finally pulled off the curtains from its B-Class Sports Tourer, which was highly anticipated in the Indian auto industry. The model, which is a perfect blend of style, sportiness and safety features, has created a new segment, Sports Touring, in the Indian industry for premium compact cars. The success of launch event went beyond the expectations as all the units of model are sold for the current year and the additional bookings will be delivered in January 2013.
On the launch ceremony, the Director, Sales and Marketing of Mercedes-Benz India, Debashis Mitra, quoted, “We are extremely excited with the initial response of the B-Class in India. Our Strategy of introducing the segment & then launching the car has been well received by our customers. The huge response only demonstrates that the Three Pointed Star is easily the most aspired brand in India and kicks off a beginning of our product offensive in next couple of year in India.”
The company has offered its new model in two variants, namely B 180 and B 180 Sport, which are both packed with a similar petrol engine. Price of the base model is kept at Rs. 21.49 lacs, whereas top-of-the line Sport variant is sold for a consideration of Rs. 24.87 lacs (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The designing language used in the 2012 B-Class Sports Tourer is an imprint of unique marketing strategy adopted by the car maker, which clearly reflect its legacy. The comforts and luxuries packed within the model are never seen in any of the same segment models and thus, B-Class Sports Tourer in Indian has created a benchmark.
He further added “The sell out of the new B-Class in the pre launch phase convinces us that there is a latent demand for ‘Sports Tourers’ in India and they are looking forward for cars loaded with features.”
Mercedes-Benz B-Class Sports Tourer happens to be a perfect option for refined luxury with beautifully combined dynamics and sporty characteristics. The new vehicle from the stables of German auto blends versatility of a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MUV), performance of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and drive quality of a sedan. While designing B-Class Sports Tourer in India, the company has taken every aspect of the market into consideration and has given the vehicle the most enticing guise in compliance with its inherent philosophy of making world-class products.
