Maruti Increases its Production of Small Cars in India
The festive season is here! Maruti has increased its production of hot selling small cars in India during this festive season. Maruti is expecting a robust sale in its small cars in India owing to the ongoing festive season. Company has stepped up production of its A2 segment cars like Zen Estillo, WagonR and Swift by about 6000 units to meet the increase in demand for these cars.
Maruti had reduced production of its A2 segment cars by 3.56 percent in May, 4.44 percent in June and 1.57 percent in July. “Whatever production cuts were made in those months, have been already up in September and for the ongoing fiscal, our cumulative production is already more than what we did in the comparable period last fiscal,” said a company official. He also added that the increase in the production was “as per the original plans.”

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest car manufacturer and is ready to launch its latest model, A-Star in India by mid-November. It is also planning to launch another small car, Maruti Splash by early 2009. Maruti is also hiring engineers from various disciplines of engineering for its design, research and development project. It plans to design a car from scratch especially for the Indian customers.
