Mercedes Benz launched its special purpose vehicle S-Guard in India that will cost around Rs. 6 crore. The exact price of the car will be available only when the first order is placed and the car is imported actually with all duties paid. The model is a luxury limousine that is powered by 12-cylinder 5.5L petrol engine. The car is powerful enough to withstand ballistic or firearms attack and will be imported as a completely built unit in India.
Mercedes stated that it has already received inquiries for the car but refused to divulge details of the same. "This car is basically targeted at corporate and industry leaders, government officials and celebrities. We want to tap the growing market for armoured and protective vehicles in India," Mercedes-Benz India Member of the Board of Management Suhas Kadlaskar said.

The S-Guard follows a long and unique tradition of large, armoured, prestige limousines from Mercedes-Benz and encompasses cumulative experience of 80+ years of manufacturing vehicles with factory-integrated special protection.
