Limited Edition BMW Gran Turismo Available

BMW has launched limited edition model of its latest car model Gran Turismo in India. Gran Turismo is the coupe version of its 5-series executive sedan and the company has launched only 100 models of the limited edition to make it an ultra exclusive car. The limited edition is priced at Rs. 63 lakh (ex-showroom) and is actually an outgoing 2009 model with 3 liter diesel engine.

The latest 2010 model of Gran Turismo available in international market is powered by 4.4L twin turbo engine generating additional 400 bhp. The 3.0-litre straight-six diesel comes with an all-aluminium crankcase as well as common-rail direct fuel injection with piezo-injectors. This engine delivers 180 kW/245 hp at 4,000 rpm, and gives the car average fuel consumption in the combined EU cycle of just 6.5 litres/100 kilometers, or about 16 KMPL.

BMW is investing 50 million dollars in its Chennai plant to increase its production capacity, which is at present 3,000 units per year, said Peter Kronschanbl, President, BMW India Private Limited.
