Jaguar, the British luxury car maker, has come-up with an all-new sleek and sporty car, Jaguar XJ, which has set new standards in the automotive industry. The sophisticated designing of this car offers an appealing performance and brilliant engineering with no scope of compromise. The new XJ flaunts traditional style of automobiles with an essence of simplicity.

The extended design of side windows complements sportiness of new Jaguar XJ. The exteriors of this new car just not have a streamlined body design, rather they also shares the drag coefficient of 0.29 with Jaguar XF saloon. This features makes both of these cars the most aerodynamic vehicles produced by the company ever.

As far as interiors of Jaguar XJ are concerned, the car can easily adjust five individuals without hassle. In addition to this, the long wheelbase models offer even more space to rear passengers with decent level of comfort. The elongated wheelbase version offers an additional of 125 mm of legroom at rears. All the models of Jaguar XJ are provided with a panoramic glass roof as standard accessory, which radically improves the sagacity of light and space within the car. In addition, to maintain a soothing ambience within the car the company has incorporated a new generation infotainment system with display feature. This system also features an optional 1200 W premium surround sound system of Bowers & Wilkins.

Jaguar has provided a lightweight architecture to its all-new offering. The designing of car includes aluminium with the usage of magnesium and composite alloys, which allows the company to develop a relatively lighter vehicle with robust construction. Taking its technical part, Jaguar has offered an option of four powerful engines, which incorporates latest power-train technology. All these engines are performance oriented in nature, which turns out to be a perfect blend of power, performance and efficiency. The line-up is leaded by a powerful supercharged 5.0 litre AJ-V8 Gen III engine, which generates the maximum power of 510 bhp. Since the engine of this car has brilliant emissions, it smoothly glides between 0-100 kmph in a short span of 4.9 seconds. Jaguar also offers a supercharged engine that produces peak power of 468 bhp and naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 383 bhp of power.

Along with petrol engine, the company also offers an option of 3.0 litre AJ-V6D Gen III diesel engine, which has the potential to generate maximum power of 273 bhp. The engine of this car is assimilated with twin sequential turbochargers, which provides a redefined driving experience to the driver. The diesel engine of Jaguar XJ accelerates from 0-100 kmph within 6.4 seconds.

The innovative technologies incorporated within XJ are shared from the new XFR and XKR models, which add an extra dose to efficiency of the car. These features include electronically controlled rear differential (Active Differential Control), continuously variable damping system (Adaptive Dynamics) and a quick ratio power steering system.

Since the designing of XJ incorporates light weight aluminium structure and advanced engines, the new XJ steps ahead from most of its competitors in the terms of performance. The aluminium body included within the car employ over 50 per cent recycled material and the company plans to further increase this proportion to 75 per cent. The body plans manufactured using recycled material utilizes just 5 per cent of the total energy, which is needed for new aluminium. This results in reduction of over three tonnes of CO2 emissions per car.

Addressing the car, Jaguar said, “The new XJ is a thoroughly modern interpretation of the quintessential Jaguar. Its visual impact stems from the elongated teardrop shape of the car’s side windows, a powerful stance and wide track. It is the most emphatic statement yet of Jaguar’s new design direction.”
