Hyundai Santro LPG Launched in India
India’s second largest car manufacturer and exporter, Hyundai Motors India Limited launched a new variant of its small car Hyundai in India. Hyundai launched its LPG variant of its small car Hyundai Santro in India taking a step forward to launch more eco-friendly cars in the country.
"We have taken a conscious decision at Hyundai to make environment friendly cars... We had earlier introduced the CNG Santro and today we are launching the LPG version of our flagship brand Santro," Hyundai Motor India Ltd Managing Director H S Lheem said.
The new version is priced between Rs. 3.5 lakh to Rs. 3.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) which is Rs .21500 more than its existing petrol only model. It will come with dual fuel mode with 1.1 litre eLRX engine. With its new version of small car in India, Hyundai addresses the rising demand of environmentally friendly cars from eco-conscious customers who are seeking car running on alternative fuels.
''We have taken a conscious decision at Hyundai to make environment-friendly car and we are furthering our initiative of launching alternate fuel vehicle which take this theme forward. We had earlier introduced the CNG Santro and today we are launching the LPG version of our flagship brand Santro,'' the HMIL Managing Director, H.S. Lheem, said.
The LPG kit fitted in the car is approved by Department of Explosives and also certified and tested by Automotive Research Association of India. The car is also impact resistant.
