The company sold 54,354 units overall in June 2012, up 3.5% from 52,521 units sold in June 2011. This included a 0.2% rise in domestic sales from 30,402 to 30,450 and an 8.1% increase in exports from 22,119 to 23,904 units.

Expressing his opinion on the sales figures, Mr Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “The general inflationary trend, high fuel prices, interest rates that are still high are keeping sentiment low. Unless any triggers get activated, sentiment is not expected to improve very much”. He seemed happy at the high growth rate of exports and remarked, “We are witnessing good volumes in South America and Africa. The Eon is being particularly well received in Africa and the i10 is strong in South America.”
Talking of the segment-wise aggregate sales in the half-yearly period of 2012, A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10, i20) sold 44,046 units , A3 segment ( Accent and Verna) sold 10,182 units and the SUV segment (Santra Fe) sold a total of 39 units.
