Hyundai Motors India limited is India’s largest car exporter. The company has received a little fall in its export sales ever since the scrappage scheme in Europe has been called off. The company now intends to capture diversified international market to increase its export car sales. Hyundai intends to export 2.6 lakh units in 2010 by penetrating new markets with its most successful compact car model – Hyundai i20.

"Our share of exports has been steadily growing from 35% in 2006 to about 50% in 2008. In the coming years, about 55% of our volumes are expected to come in from domestic sales and balance 45% from international market," said Arvind Saxena, HMIL, Director and Board Member.

India is HMIL’s largest export hub outside Korea. It currently exports its models like, Santro, i10, i20 and Accent to 110 countries from India. Its major market still remains Europe but now the company's products are gaining popularity in newer markets like Middle East and North Africa - in fact, Santro is extremely popular in markets like African countries, Mexico and Latin America.
