Toyota Motors had recalled its cars in various countries due to faulty gas pedal. Following the suit, Honda was next in queue and recalled its cars in the US and Europe due to defective windows switch that could lead to fire in the car. A child died in a mishap owing to the faulty windows switch after which Honda recalled its second generation Fit/Jazz models. Earlier Honda had announced that there will be no recall in India but in a fresh announcement, Honda is recalling its 2007 Honda City models.

Honda will recall 8532 Honda City models of 2007 due to faulty windows switch. The third generation model currently being sold in India will not be affected and will not require any replacement either.

Honda has already recalled 6,46,000 models worldwide of which 1,40,000 models are from the US. These models are mainly Honda Fit/Jazz and Honda City that have been sold in North America, South America, South Africa, Europe and Asia. Japanese models are not included in the recalled model.
