11 February, 2010, 10:10 IST by Payal Pathak

Honda launched its new CB Twister with air-cooled 4-stroke single cylinder 110 cc engine. The model will be available in the market by end of February. “With Twister we are attempting to revive the mass-market segment and hope to sell around 2.2 lakh units by FY11. The product will also help us increase our market share from 13% to around 15% by the next financial year,” said Naresh Rattan, VP (marketing and sales), HMSI.

Honda CB Twister is priced at Rs. Rs 44,870- Rs 51,150 ex showroom Mumbai. The company aims to sell around 2.2 lakh units by the year 2011. The new model will increase sales numbers for the company and its new price will be quite close to Honda Shine.

The 110cc motorcycle segment contributes to more than half of the total wheeler market at 40 lakh units. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is currently the third player in the Indian market. It now intends to gain better market position in the country.
