01 December, 2008, 10:10 IST by Satish

Hindustan Motors, India’s one of the older car makers, is ready to launch its new model in India. Hindustan Motors is a planning to launch a new car model in India in alliance with Mitsubishi Motors. It had earlier planned to launch the mode in October during the festive season. However, owing to the decline in demand and glum market conditions, it had delayed the launch of its new car.

Hindustan Motors is ready to launch its new model nearly 20 years after it had launched Contessa and Ambassador in India. The model is built on a new platform that has been developed by the company on its own. According to

Santhanam, Managing Director of Hindustan Motors, the company has taken some technical inputs from other but the new model has been designed entirely on their own. The company is testing the model extensively at its Uttarpara factory.

Hindustan Motors has one of the oldest models in its product portfolio, the Ambassador. The car still marks its small presence on the Indian roads but in last few months the company witnessed a decline in its sales as well. It plans to launch LPG and CNG versions of the Ambassador next year. It also plans to launch Mitsubishi Outlander shortly.

A best car for the family, and it can be called as the kind on the indian roads. Defenitely it will be a good demand, and the same time the price should also moderate.

It is good to know that HM is planning to launch a new model in India. With their experience in this field and their marketing strengths, especially in the Govt. Deptts. and PSUs, HM is well placed to anticipate demand. Mitsubishi Outlander, launched recently by HM, has petrol version only. Its diesel version should also be introduced to compete with Nissan X-Trail and other similar SUVs which have fairly good demand.
