General Motors Sneak Preview at Detroit Motors Show

23 December, 2009, 10:10 IST by Satish Kalepu

General Motors is planning to pull-off wraps from several of its models at the upcoming Detroit Motor Show next month. It will reveal several models that will be launched in 2010 and 2011. Some of the models that will be revealed at the Auto Show are renewed Chevrolet Aveo, Aveo RS, Chevrolet Spark, Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Orlando. General Motors will also unveil all-new 2011 Chevrolet Malibu.

Chevrolet Camaro will be available as a convertible model but the new Chevrolet Malibu is expected to be the real show stopper. The model has undergone a complete overhaul after three year and the new model carries more aggressive designing and style, sharper line-edges similar to those in the Cadillac family, more pronounced wheel arch lines and a raised rear deck.

General Motors Company is expected to give more identity to its four surviving brands by de-emphasizing its GM identity. Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC will share 85,000 square feet in Cobo Center’s northwest quadrant. The core brands get a quarter to a third more space to showcase 41 vehicles, engine technology and a variety of interactive displays. Lesser popular brands like Saab, Pontiac, Hummer and Saturn have either been sold or discontinued. GMC will also stage media presentations to introduce its concept cars and future technologies.
