Ford Posts Robust Sales in India

Ford India is going strong in the Indian market. Its entry level sedan Fiesta is already selling strongly in the Indian market and now the company has introduced its small car model as well. The latest sales figures from Ford India bespeak of Ford being a strong contender in the Indian market. It reported 22.67 percent rise in its February sales at 3223 units as compared to 2636 units sold in the same period last year.

 

"We are seeing an overwhelming response to our product line-up with the Fiesta and Endeavour recording strong year-on-year growth of more than hundred per cent," said Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Nigel Wark.

 

Ford India introduced its small car model Figo in the Indian market. Now the company will officially launch the model on March 09. Ford has ensured cost cutting at every level and has placed the model on an extremely competitive platform. Ford has reused the components and will sell both petrol and diesel model in the Indian domestic market.

I feel finally Ford has turned the market towards its side. Launch of FIGO at the prices as announced by Ford will help Ford to Bite a very large share of the market.
