Ford Launches new Ikon Plus in India

22 January, 2010, 10:10 IST by Payal Pathak

Ford India launched a new variant of its entry level sedan – Ford Ikon, namely the Ford Ikon Plus. The new model is priced at Rs. 5.17-5.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variant is laden with added security features and will be available with petrol and diesel options.

Ford India was missing from the Delhi Auto Expo this year but it definitely has good plans lined up for the Indian market. The new Ford Ikon Plus is yet another effort from Ford to capture the mid-sized segment. Entry level sedan segment is one of the most popular emerging segments in India. Many car makers are planning to introduce their models in this segment.

"The new variant is a follow up to the response witnessed on the Ikon iKool last year," Ford India executive director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Nigel Wark said.

All other features in the new Ford Ikon Plus model remain the same except the new security features added to the model.
