Ford CEO Allan Mulallay was recently interviewed where he called India as “one of our hubs.” Mulally was talking to Economic Times where he spoke about his India specific plans and vision for the coming few years. Ford recently introduced its new small car model Figo in the Indian market which comes at a very sharp price. Mulally also confirmed that Ford will introduce more small car models to compete fiercely in the small car segment. Ford intends to use its global platforms to introduce similar models that will enable it to bring value cars for its customers in developing markets.

Ford called Indian market equally competitive as the Chinese market. Both the markets are one of the most promising markets where Ford intends to be strong player. “India is a really important market for us. We love being here. We have got great operations here. We can continue bringing more and more of our Ford products to the Indian customers. If you look at the overall market in the Asia Pacific, India and China will be the fastest growing market for us going forward,” he said.

Moreover, Ford also termed India as one of its hubs owing to its tremendous operations force. Ford has a strong manufacturing capability in India which is in line with its global production system.
