Force India Launches New 2010 Challenger
Force India had quite a successful 2009 when the team emerged from an underdog to a successful competitor. This year team owner Dr. Vijay Mallya along with his drivers Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi and reserve driver Paul Di Resta are again in the game. The team launched its new challenger VJM03 at Jerez Circuit in Spain.
According to VJM03 design director Smith, the new car has been built on foundations of the previous car and any additions and modifications have been done only to replace what was not successful in the past. "The VJM03 is simply an evolution of last year's car in terms of the design philosophies that we have developed over the last year," said Smith. "We are happy with the direction; therefore we have opted to evolve the car than simply revise."
Mallya seemed more confident this year although the team could not bag any trophies. "We've learned from our experiences and have come out a better team," stated Dr. Mallya. "We are now more resilient, resourceful and now resurgent," he said.
