Fiat Launches Two New Variants of Grand Punto
Fiat India launched two new variants of its small car model – Grand Punto. Fiat introduced 1.2 FIRE Dynamic and 1.2 FIRE Emotion as the new BS IV compliant models. While 1.2L FIRE Dynamic is priced at Rs. 4.57 lakh, the new 1.2L FIRE Emotion model is priced at Rs. 4.87 lakh. Grand Punto is placed in B+ hatchback segment which has fiercely competitive models like Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai i10 and i20.
"The hatchback segment has seen a 50 per cent growth last year in India. In fact, 60 per cent of car sales happen in this category and we have had a 5.5 per cent market share till now," said Fiat India's President and Chief Executive Officer, Rajeev Kapoor.
Fiat intends to double its sales in India this year to at least 50,000 units as compared to 24,000 units sold last year. Fiat already reported a net jump of 78.38 percent in its sales in February 2010.

I think Fiat should also come out with One Litre Car or Less than that say 800 0r 900 CC in petrol and price should be less than 3 Lacs . Looks should be like Punto which is very very Cute . Please try to increase Punto Cars on Roads as fast as possible. This period i.e from 2010 to 2013 is very crucial for Fiat , it can be among top 5 automobile companys in India especially sales wise. These days people want best quality best price and best service .

Fiat Punto is very good looking and mechanically sound car but because of previous history of Fiat Company, people think twice before buying Fiat Cars. I believe Fiat should revise their car prices which should be very very competitive and mouth watering atleast for first 2 to 3 years . They should reduce the prices minimum by Rs.50,000/ to Rs.85,000/ in all variants of Punto and Linea atleast . By doing this they can double their sales figures. By doing this number of cars on road will increase and gradually confidence level and Love for Fiat in people will go upwards. Coming 2 to 3 years are very important for Fiat.
