Fiat 500 with new Diesel Power
Fiat has upgraded its international model of 500 City Car with a more powerful diesel engine that is also more environmentally friendly. The car delivers lower CO2 emissions where its existing 75bhp 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel is being replaced with a new 95bhp 1.3-litre turbo diesel featuring Multijet II technology.
The car comes with new variable geometry turbo charger that delivers 20bhp more than the previous unit and is also equipped with a particulate filter. Stop-start technology is also added to keep fuel consumption low during town driving.
"This remarkable new diesel engine will add even greater excitement to the 500 range without adding to the cost of ownership," says Fiat Group Automobiles UK managing director Andrew Humberstone.
The new Fiat 500 represents complete value for money pack with a starting price of just £8,700 on the road in the UK market or Rs. 6,96,000. The car was voted as the Best Super Mini by readers of What Car!
