Fiat 500 in India
Fiat launched its Fiat Cinquecento or 500 in India in a glittering function at Taj Land's End in Mumbai in July. The car has made a quite entry in the Indian car market. It is currently priced at Rs. 14.85 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is being imported as a completely built unit which makes its three times the price of a Swift. Even the engine is same as in 1.3 Litre, 75bhp multi-jet diesel engine equivalent to the one in Swift or Palio. However, Fiat 500 offers a wide range of paint shades and choice of interiors unavailable to Indian customers in other brands. The car shall be available in 11 colours and could be customised completely according to consumer's taste.

Fiat has started its brand building image in India with the launch of its much expensive car, 500. It is not looking at numbers but aims to spike up Fiat image in the minds of Indian customers. It has set its annual sales target to 100 units per year.
The new Fiat 500 in India is currently being distributed and sold by Tata Motors through the new Fiat dealer network in six major cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Pune.

It is a news that FIAT is trying hard to penitrate in INDIAN market but doing same mistakes of keeping Price very high and coming in 2 door car segment which is not very popular in India. And high price for a SMALL CAR is not at all diestive.. they should come with reasonable priced cars simultaneously.

This is a farce played out on us. This car has a tiny 1.3 L engine very similar to Swift! It should not be priced higher than the Swift. I am sure prospective buyers will see thru' this. SD Rajkumar
