Expect Mitsubishi Lancer Evoution X in India Soon

08 April, 2008, 10:10 IST by Satish

Mitsubishi is working on revamping their product range in India by launching the new Lancer Evolution X. It is expected to be priced around Rs 21.7 akh and is actually an Evo10 edition of the Lancer sedan. In line with the launch of their new SUV, Outlander, Indian customers can expect this model early next year.

“We are planning to bring Evo 10 to India through the completely built route. This may push the cars’ end cost but the company has no plans to locally build the car yet. The response for the car will decide whether it can be manufactured here or not”, says a Mitsubishi company executive.

The car is cheaper in the overseas market and is priced around $30,473  or Rs 12 lakh but adding import duties hikes up the price to Rs. 21 lakh or more. It would compete with Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb, VW Passat, etc.

The rugged engine and the smooth driving experience would be the main selling factors for the car. The Indian customers can expect rally-bred exotic performance, exhilarating driving, and cutting-edge vehicle dynamics technology – all in a sleek compact 4WD sedan.
