Electric Car in India from Mitsubishi Motors

India shall soon have electrically operated cars in the country that shall be launched by Mitsubishi Motors. The car shall run for 90 miles in single charge at the top speed of 90kmph. Electrically operated models from Mitsubishi have been highly successful in Japan and Hong Kong as an eco-friendly model.

Electric car or Mitsubishi innovative electric vehicle (MiEV) can be easily charge nearly 80 percent in just half an hour with its special charging system and its enhanced Li-ion batteries. The motor is placed at the back and can give a run of 90 miles at 90 kmph when fully charged.

Currently, India only has Reva as electrically charged car from and has no competitor in its segment. This car segment remains highly unexplored and holds good opportunities for growth.

Mitsubishi currently plans to launch Outlander as its latest model in India which was showcase earlier this year at the Delhi Auto Expo. Outlander shall be its fifth model in the country.

Yes , there is need for a Electric car which is both cost effective and longer mileage per single charge (May be 200 KM )This will certainly attract people to go for electric cars.

We should electric cars in India and Government should have some programme to replacing polluting cars from the market.

for a country like india electric cars shoud be promoted at all cost for ourown interest to hedge againstst oil shock and polution.i would like to buy one at right price.

i would love to see this model throughout the smaller islands of the caribbean where speed and distance are not important.
what would be the approximate cost ? is there a local agent? governments should be persuaded to allow in duty free.
