Ducati to Sell 100 Bikes Next Year

09 November, 2009, 10:10 IST by Satish Kalepu

Ducati Motor Holdings opened its first showroom in India earlier this month. It is the world’s leading producer of Racing inspired motorcycles and runs its first showroom in the Indian market in partnership with Precision Motor India Private Limited.

It intends to open six more showrooms in India in other major Indian cities. The company is likely to open its second showroom in Delhi-Gurgaon shortly. It aims to sell at least 100 bikes in its first year in the country. It has already received about 300 enquiries and well over 20 dealer enquiries since its launch. It will be contacting them shortly as it settles in India.

“We anticipate (to sell) around 100 units from India. However, as the Indian market develops faster than any one expects, we are optimistic and hope to do more than that,” Ducati Motor Holding’s Vice President (Sales), Christiano Silie said. "We hope to develop fast in the next few years globally as well as in India along with China, Brazil and some other markets in South-East Asia," he added.

Ducati’s 15 models available for retail include Hyper Motard, Monster, Fighter, SBK and Sport Classic. These models and their variants are priced between Rs 13-43 lakh.
