Delhi Auto Expo – Renault
French Auto maker Renault has a joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra in India as Mahindra Renault, and it has its model Mahindra Renault Logan in India. Its Chairman Mr Carlos Ghosn, had stated that there were some important launches and announcements likely to be made at the Auto Expo which would reiterate the company's long-term commitment to the market here.
Among others, Mahindra Renault stated it will launch new variant of its entry level sedan model Logan, the Logan Tourer. The new model will be priced at Rs. 5.5 lakh and will be available as both petrol and diesel model. Mahindra Renault has co-branded with VIP which is one of the leading luggage brands in India. The new Logan Tourer is positioned as a complete long drive car with great fuel efficiency clubbed with good ride and handling features. The new model is available in three new colours – Java Brown, Mist Silver and Diamond White.
“The new Logan Tourer features plush interior and innovative enhancements. Our idea behind co-branding with VIP was to combine its trustworthiness with Logan’s reliability, space and robustness in order to give our customers the satisfaction of an enhanced packaged offering. This adds a whole new dimension of fun and adventure to the Logan’s existing value proposition of space, fuel efficiency and economy.” said Mr. Nalin Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Renault Pvt. Ltd.
Renault will also feature its new product line for India. Renault is ready to introduce Sandero hatchback model in India. The model will be based on Logan platform with same interiors to make it more cost competitive as per Indian market. Other Renault models that will be on display from the international product portfolio are Laguna sedan, Kangoo van and Scenic MPV. Renault may also showcase its Formula One model at the Delhi Auto Expo.
Renault will finally also showcase its Sports Car and the Twizy concept car. The Twizy ZE concept is an electric runabout designed specifically for making urban commutes as smooth as possible and is an innovative design study.
