Chrysler Jeep Cherokee in India from Tata-Fiat Partnership
Tata Fiat partnership may soon bring Chrysler Jeep Cherokee in India. While Tata dealerships across India will showcase the new model in their showrooms, Fiat and Chrysler will play a strategic role in making the model available in India. Jeep Cherokee will be available as 4.0 V6 petrol model with auto transmission in black color. It will be an immaculate fully loaded model priced at 12 lakhs.
This venture will see Chrysler making a foray into the Indian market. Moreover, Fiat-Chrysler strategic partnership will also ensure flow of small and cheaper model in India. Fiat will offer its mini; lower-medium and upper-medium product platforms and Chrysler will ensure that there are variety of sedans and SUVs in the Indian market from its vast global product portfolio. Fiat will also ensure that gas-guzzling models of Chrysler are now fitted with new engines from Fiat that have more fuel efficient smaller engines with low carbon emission and adhere to the new emissions norms in India.
Fiat already has a strong association with Tata Motors in India and it intends to stick to its partnership which is not product or market specific in any manner. Both the companies work with each other to offer maximum benefit to each other related to any product or any market. In India, Tata Motors offers its dealership network to Fiat and Fiat has agreed to sell Tata Nano in the overseas market where it holds a strong and Fiat-brand dominated market.

I don't think it's good idea to go with petrol version. In next 5/6 years more than 85% of the total the cars and suv's market will be dominated by Diesel powered vehicles. Jeep grand Cherokee is of course is a dashing vehicle but I would like jeep wrangler to be launch first. It will definitely give tough competition to Scorpio and invova.
