Skoda Auto is planning to widen its small car product portfolio in India. It intends to introduce cheaper variants of its current small car – Skoda Fabia which will hit the Indian market before Volkswagen Polo is launched. The company will reduce the prices of Skoda Fabia in April when it comes with a new model that complies with Bharat Stage IV norms. This means, it will strip down few features to curb the costs.
“We are internally discussing the issue, to find a positioning and react to the Polo. We will consider and maybe launch the Fabia as a base model,” said Reinhard Fleger, member of the board, Skoda Auto.
Skoda Auto is a part of the same group company Volkswagen. It does not intend to compete with its own group company brands. Skoda stands for value for money and it intends to offer its models accordingly to the Indian customers. We will not reposition the entire range and we will introduce new models across the range. There is enough room for the Passat and the Jetta (VW models) and the Superb and the Laura (Skoda)."
Skoda is also working on a New Family Car that will be introduced below Skoda Fabia and falls in category called “Zero Zero” in Europe.

Milage roughly 18 Km / high way 13 Km in city ( diesel ) with AC and above 120 KM speed , well it is good milage at 90-100 Km speed , almost 19 Km / high way. iy will cost near about 8 lacks on road ( with out any offers ) for middle version . 14 inch tyres , Good pick up , but slightly noisy engine . ( noise may reduce over the time running ) But smooth at 4 th gear . In fact this one is comming with original made in germany engine . ( can see the engraved on engine block ) , so good quality as well costly spares . but the new fabia may come with indian made engines , so cheaper to maintain.Overall good vehicle. fabia has 4 star safety rating in Europe.
