Car Rental Business Booming in India
Nearly more than a dozen car rental companies are making a beeline for Indian auto market. There has been a gradual increase in the demand of car rental services as more people are opting to hire a car for business or pleasure. More than a dozen car rental brands are expected to enter India soon.
One of the major players planning to make its foray in the country is Avis, the American car rental major. Other American car rental companies like Thrifty and Dollars are also planning to start their business operations in India. Apart from these companies, the Indian auto market shall also witness entry of other major car rental companies like Enterprise, Vanguard's brands like Almo and National, etc.
Car rental business across the world has witnessed a negative growth in past few months. One of the major reasons is improved public transport system in countries like the US, Singapore, the UK, etc. Thus, car rental companies are looking at other emerging markets to expand their business operations. Indian market still lacks a proper public transport system even in major cities which has lent a promising outlook to car rental business in the country.
