Besides 6-cylinder N55 engine that powers the 335i, which has already received favourable response in the market, the buyers can also look forward to the new turbocharged 4-cylinder (N20) powertrain in the 328i. The new motor was first incorporated in Z4 sDrive28i 2012, which provided an unmatched driving experience to the drivers while delivering decent fuel economy.
In order to assist the performance of this engine, BMW has mated it to an 8 speed automatic transmission system, which has made its debut in this segment. Along with decent output, the company has also paid attention towards keeping the emissions of the new entrant quite low. Advancements like BMW EfficientDynamics technology, auto start-stop function and brake energy regeneration play a crucial role in reducing the fuel consumption of the car.
Apart from brilliant output and low emissions, BMW has also worked on the safety features of its new 3 Series. In order to assure complete safety of its passengers, the car is incorporated with advancements like parking assistant system which assists the driver to park his/her car safely. Besides, technologies like active blind spot detection system, lane departure warning system and camera-based collision warning system are also included in the safety package of the car.
