German luxury car makers BMW has launched two new car variants of its 3-series models in India. BMW has introduced all new 320d Corporate Edition and 330i petrol variants from the 3-series models. BMW 3 series and 5 series models are the volume pullers for the company in India. BMW 320d Corporate Edition is priced at Rs. 23.95 lakh while 330i model comes with a price tag of 33.40 lakh.
The car will be assembled at BMW’s Chennai plant and will be available across 17 dealerships in India. New BMW dealerships are coming up in Indore, Ludhiana, Goa etc which will make 22 dealerships in India by the end of this year. BMW sold 2908 units in 2008 and registered a growth of 24 percent in 2009 with sales of 3619 units. Peter Kronschnabl, the BMW India head, declined to give sales targets for these new models but commented that the company expects volume sales to come from the Corporate Edition model.
"Though 330i is available now, we think our growth will be driven by the Corporate edition variant. We hope we will be able to sell couple of hundreds of the car (Corporate edition),” he said.
