Bajaj Sells 200 Kawasaki Ninja 250R
Bajaj Auto has recently introduced super bikes in India in association with Kawasaki from Japan. Its super bike Kawasaki Ninja 250R was launched in India in October 2009. Bajaj officially launched the bike with 249 cc four-stroke, 32 bhp, DOHC, liquid cooled parallel twin draped in green, with a claimed fuel consumption of 42.5 kpl. The bike is being imported as CKD from Thailand and is assembled at its manufacturing unit at Chakan near Puna. The bike is available at Bajaj’s pro-biking showrooms in India.
According to the latest reports, Bajaj has already managed to sell around 200 units of sports model Kawasaki Ninja 250R. The bike was first introduced by Kawasaki Motors in 1983. The bike has undergone quite a few upgrades since its first launch to become renowned for its sharp handling and crisp dynamics.
"What makes this motorcycle unique is its near-perfect combination of performance, riding comfort and ease of handling. As a result it is as popular among casual riders as it among serious enthusiasts. In India, in a market cluttered with overpowered litre class motorcycles, the Kawasaki Ninja 250R will be the only supersport motorcycle whose performance is practical for Indian conditions. And with a price tag of less than Rs. 3 lakh, it is well within reach of those seeking a super sport motorcycle," says Bajaj’s official press release.
