Bajaj-Renault Get Serious on Ultra-Cheap Car Project
Bajaj-Renault and Nissan have decided to bury the hatchet and are planning to make a fresh announcement soon about manufacturing of its ultra low-cost car. The project was getting delayed so far due to difference of opinion between Renault and Bajaj Auto related to branding of the car and its basic concept. While Renault wanted the car to be based on price, Bajaj Auto intended to brand the car as “more value for money.”
Both Renault and Nissan have existing partnerships in India. Nissan has a joint venture with Ashok Leyland to manufacture light trucks, while Renault has joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra to manufacture passenger car model Logan. Renault has already announced that it intends to end up with only one partner in India.
Bajaj Auto’s MD Rajiv Bajaj had earlier announced this year that it intends to scrape the existing project and begin afresh as he does not agree with the existing views about branding of the car and its concept. The design team has come up with a new concept which has received approval from Renault chief as well.

"To be frank TATAS have not fulfilled the hopes of ( CERTAIN )Indians in bringing out a small Car.No doubt NANO has lost the confidence of (CERTAIN) Car users.... nd certain Non Nano users are not satisfied with its performance and its quality......" I TOO ADMIT THE SAME......

Who told u that customer ...............waste your time" Thank You for Your above Comment, It is obvious on the Part of the Commentators to criticise on the Comments made on the facts. The opinions are different from Person to Person. One may like sweet and another may like HOT.Still I am stick to the facts brought by me.Everybody has a right to express their openion. It may not be a fact that I have fought with the Govt. of India and Mamata Benergee and almost all the Peoples representatives including the President of India. To be frank TATAS have not fulfilled the hopes of the Indians in bringing out a small Car.No doubt NANO has lost the confidence of the Car users.None have of the user has satisfied with its performance and its quality.I am requesting all our friends not to make any comments on the persons who have expressed their opinions. It is not a healthy practice criticise personally. You got every right to express your opinion supporting a particular Product. It is a fact that nobody has taken a full price towards advance for any product at any time and wait for years together. In this regard it seems TATAS have no confidence for marketing their Product and binding the Customers in demanding full amout or to catch the crage towards NANO.

Mananiya Shreeman Jeorge, Johnson & Manne & others, We should take part in a discussion with a healthy mind. Every one has right to say & speak of his individual thoughts. Every one is Genuine & right in his thoughts. Simultaneously every one has some limitations too. However every one is free to share his thoughts & ideas. Let us check that it does not go beyond the limit & becomes personal. Ultimately we all are Bhartiya & we love our country. Jai Ho! Rajesh Shah na Jai Jinendra!

How can u blame thm yaar...? "CAN U PAY Rs.48 TODAY TO A PETROL PUMP AND DEMAND FOR ONE LITRE OF PETROL AFTER ONE YEAR..!!!!" THERE'S NO PROBLEM FOR THOSE WHO ARE WAITING FOR 6 - 8 MONTHS AFTER PAYING FULL AMOUNT FOR A STUPID CAR- DEZIRE... BUT WHN SOMEBODY IS READY TO GIVE A CAR FOR JUST I.5 LACKS ( WHICH EVERY BODY SAID -ITS IMPOSSIBLE )WHY CANT WE WAIT ..?(IF U WANT IT) OR WHY CANT U KEEP QUIET IF U DONT WANT IT... ANY WAY NOW THERE WILL BE LOT OF PEOPLE TO MAKE SMALL CARS -- BUT WHO DID THAT TREND SETTING... ? ITS ONLY THE TATA - OUR PROUD INDIAN CAR MAKER ONLY... I AM REALLY PROUD OF IT... LOVE U INDIA--- LOVE U TATA....

Thank You Sir, Thank You Very Much Mr.Rajesh for your comment.I too agree with your Valuable thoughts.I am also a strong Believer of Developing "SWADESHI" Goods. When Sanjay Gandhi brought small car everybody has shamed him. But I have issued several articles through Print Media (There is no Internet at that time). It is known fact that is only an alternative for Indian Car Industries when there there was no car except Ambassador of HM.Now I am not blaming NANO Car, but I am questioning the Commercial attitude of TATAs. When they are taking full amount either cash or through Bank finance, it is the Moral Responsibility of the supplier to give it at the Price when a customer Booked with full amount. It may not be out of Place to mention that Maruthi Motors were supplied the cars at the prevailing price at the time of Booking.I am pointing out the attitude of TATAs and moreover for another 80K we can get Maruthi Alto LXI. My point is TATAs have to supply the Cars on the prevailing price at the time of BOOKING because customer is Paying full amount of the Car.

Resp. Mr. SN MANNE B Com LLB, With all regards to you, for information only, Tata said Ex factory price of Rs. 1,00,000/- & he kept his promise. It does not include transport, handling charges, dealer's commission & other service related charges. If I am not wrong Bajaj Auto Rikshaw with no safety measures cost you Rs. !,30,000 & more with out doors windows, solid roof & so many other things missing. When Tata quoted in 2004 the price of steel, plastic 7 rubber were at least 20 to 30% less than what it is today. One more thing to be noted my lord with all respect to some one is Nano is present & Other car are in the air only OR on drawing boards only. It seems that we do not love BHARTIYA products to one going to taged with VIDESHI. BHARAT MERA MAHAN & we are shamed of the people who does not hold any respect & aspirations to our own people. Tata is Parsi Bawaji. He is true Indian 'BHARTIYA' better than any Politician or for bravery's sake better than average Indian Industrialist.

Thank You Brothers for your Comments.R U Really satisfy with NANO .Then it is OK.While Booking TATAs have attracted the Customers with a Lesser price of Rs.1 Lakh to Rs.1.5 ,but in Practice, they are charging More. When an item is booked and taken full price the seller has to stick on to the Price at which they have taken full amount of the item. But the TATAs are claiming as the Prevailing price at the time of Delivery. It is very delicate and created sensation and put the customers under Disappointment. Is not the Cheating.
