German car maker intends to make it big in the Indian luxury car segment and beat BMW in sales figures. Audi introduced its luxury coupe A7 model at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. It was first unveiled at the America Auto expo in 2009. The model goes into production this year and will be available in the international market. Audi intends to introduce the same model in India in 2011.
The new A7 model used A6 platform but has light weight aluminum platform with various steel reinforcement. The model is powered by a 3.0 litre V6 diesel, the Sportback attains 0 to 100 kmph in less than 7 seconds and attains a top speed of 245 kmph.

Audi also launched the new Q7 diesel model which is one of the most powerful SUVs in its segment powered by 4.2L V8 TDI diesel engine. The model is priced at Rs. 65 lakh and will be available at the dealerships by April 2010.
Audi recently reduced prices of its A6 model when it launched the Limited Edition model at Rs. 37 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Audi also intends to bring the new A8 model in India which will be different from the international model and will be more India-specific. The 12-cylinder European model will be launched by end of 2010.
