The petrol engine of this car would produce a maximum output of 104 hp at 5250 rpm and maximum torque of 153 Nm at 3800 rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant would give maximum power of 104 hp at 4400 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm at 1500 rpm. Volkswagen Vento is available in 1.6-litre petrol engine and diesel engine options. Its petrol engine is capable of churning a maximum power of 104 hp at 5250 rpm and maximum torque of 153 Nm at 3800 rpm, confirming similar performance while being driven. The diesel engine however, generates a peak power of 104 hp at 4400 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm at 1500 rpm to 2500 rpm.
Features The Rapid has been assimilated with features like power windows, power steering, anti-lock braking system with EBD, dual airbags and keyless entry. In addition, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear defogger, height adjustable drivers’ seat, engine immobilizer and front centre armrest bring together comfort and safety. Volkswagen Vento comprises an exclusive range of features like air-conditioner, power steering, power windows, alloy wheels and central locking. Mileage Skoda Rapid has proved its mettle in terms of fuel efficiency as it will deliver a mileage of 15.4 kmpl for its petrol variant and 20.5 kmpl for its diesel variant. The petrol variant of Volkswagen Vento offers a mileage of 11 to 12 kmpl in city conditions and 15 to 16 kmpl on highways. On the other hand, the diesel variant is capable of delivering 15 to 16 kmpl mileage in city conditions and 19 to 20 kmpl on highways.
Price Between Rs. 6.75 lacs to Rs. 9.19 lacs is the price range being offered by the recently launched Skoda Rapid. Rs. 8 lacs and Rs. 10.5 lacs is the price bracket that has been set for VW Vento.

  • Looks like upto 60% of the parts in Skoda are localised while most of them are imported ones in VW, that is the reason Skoda is able to cut down on the pricing for Rapid....

  • Looks a better offer than VW Vento - if one is not conscious about brand name. Skoda is a good brand in India - except Service which now has improved.

  • Good strategy, Skoda already has high brand image. With the prize advantage it is going to make a win win situation for VW and Skoda, sharing the same engine and many spares.
