The Kia's Soul EV is packed with a robust 27-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack, which has been equipped under the cabin floor for better stability. The electric motor fitted at the front is able to produce a decent power output of almost 110 bhp with a peak torque of 285 Nm. Such figures indicate that this green car will be able to do a quick sprint from 0-100 kmph.
The company claims that this car has been designed keeping in mind the layout of a Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV). There is ample amount of space provided at the inside and boot of the car for the convenience of the passengers. Overall, the car bears a dynamic outlook, which is enhanced by the muscular facia and slanting roofline. At the inside, the designers have relied on natural parts rather than the non-renewable waste. The seat upholstery, floor carpeting, door and pillar trim, headliner and crash pads have been fabricated by cellulose and sugar-cane based plastic parts. Antibacterial and waterborne paint has been utilised to make switch buttons, audio consoles, air-vents and floor console. Even the AC unit's cases have been designed by using a special antibacterial agent.
A special LED charge status indicator has been mounted at the central dashboard that displays information about the charge level of Kia's Soul EV. In a standard 6.6 kW port, the car takes almost 5 hours to get fully charged, while, a fast charging option allows it to get 80 percent charged via a 100 kW outlet. The charging port of this green car has been tapped at the front grille, which slides open in a sideways direction. In full charge, the car has the ability to attain a top speed of almost 145 kmph and cover a distance of approximately 200 km before getting fully drained. Experts are of a view that this vehicle is among those fuel-efficient cars, which have been precisely crafted keeping in mind every their every angle of looks and performance. The company is soon going to start the production of the car and the domestic auto market might witness its advent in the upcoming time.
