I am thinking of buying a Pajero 2004-2007

or tata safari 3.0

I'm not too sure about the GLX and SFX. My friend keeps telling me not to buy the Pajero because of the engine. I like the feel of the Safari 3.0 but maintenance costs are too high (too many issues), and I owned a safari 2.2 but I didn't like the feel of it. I like the 2004 version for 7.5 (link above), but I'm not too sure about the service costs and reliability. I am looking for a car that I can own for a long time. Please advise.
