Hi,
My Honda Activa, 2002 model gives veryless milage,less than 20km, and since last couple of weeks it produce odd sound from its silensor when reduce speed while stopping,and it stops its own sometimes . i serviced it 3years back, there is also a problem with the kicker ,need to kick atleast 6/7 times in the morning, and there after its fine as i renewed the battery.the vehicle is used by my daughter, only city driving .please help what are the problems and appx money for its repairs.

Hi,
The carburattor needs to be overhauled and tappet adjustment is to be made.With spending of app 1000 to 1500 Rs vehicle can be brought to good condition.

GIVE IT ONCE A LOCAL MECHANIK IN NEAR UR AREA AND GIVE HIM FOR GENERAL SERVICE SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT ,,
OR IF MILLAGE NOT GIVING 35KM APX. THAN BIKE NEED TO RESETTING HEAD ONLY ... WHEN STARTING BY BATTERY THAN WHY R U USING 6/7 TIMES KICK .BY OVER KICK PETROL WILL GO TO HEAD AND IT WILL BE CAUSE TO OPEN THE VALVE .. ONCE OPEND VALVE MILLAGE AND PICK UP WILL BE POOR TILL RESETTING THE VALVE.. ..
IF UR BIKE GIVING WHITE SMOKE CONTINUOUSLY THAN ONLY DO REBORE/ REPLACE NEW BORE ..
IF BIKE NOT GIVING SMOKE OR BLACK SMOKE NO NEED TO REBORE .. . PROCESSORE IS LONG TO UNDRSTAND . SIMPLY GIVR FIRST TO LOCAL MECHANIK .
IF U WILL GO COMPANY AUTHORISE THEY WILL CHARGE TOO HIGH ..

Hello,
from my point of view, it is not neccessory to get your Activa serviced frequently (3 months) but at the same time you must remember it should be serviced after certain KM done.
People say's carborator needs to be cleaned every after 3 months. I asked "Y", It should only be cleaned when it is required.
I just go service my Activa/any vehical when I face any problem ( normally I don't face any problem)
I am very particular of changing engine oil after doing max 3K Km.
Now, Coming to Dr Geetha's question. Dr Gheetha my suggestion is to you, you must sell it out as this Activa is driven by your doughter and it is too old for her.
if you really intrested to get it fixed than you should go to the service center and let them decide what needs to be done because the problem you are facing can not be fixed your own. Your 2002 model Activa's Engine need a messure overhaulling and it should be done only at Authorise Service center.Don't go for cheeper go for the best.
I think this is enough you to know about your Activa, rest leave on to the Honda Service Center.

hey all,
Thank you v much for u all for the expert n detailed advise. i forgot to add few things. vehicle gets rest 6months completely( i dont bother to start even) and 4 months on round the year as my daughter is in abroads. i suggested Mr. Aravind opinion about selling, but my daughter says no as it is the gift she won for +2score. ultimately i desided to go to Johns honda, trichur
