Hi,
For the usage mentioned, Fiat Linea would be the best suited.

You really don't need a diesel car as your usage is quite low.
You could consider the Manza Aura + Saffire or the Linea.
Alternatively if you have set your mind for a diesel, consider the Mnaza Aura + Quadrajet or the Verna Diesel Automatic.

With a budget of 9 lacs , blindly go for honda city.
If you are interested in buying a used car and if fuel efficiency is not a big deal, than you can even think of Honda Civic. You can get a gem at that price. One of my friend bought one in Mumbai with 8000kms done for 7 lacs(top end model/scratchless).

Buy Fiat Linea. Linea is any time value for money vehicle. Never opt for Honda vehicles. The maintenance cost is high and moreover they are not worth the money you spend. Features are less and you pay extra for the name. Verna is a ship. You may not enjoy driving Verna at high speed. Fiesta will soon have a design change and the build quality of Tata vehicles... let not talk about it.

Friends - I guess you are not updated with the recent things changed at Ford. Ford Ikon and the Fiesta are the lowest when it comes to parts prices. see the attachments. Fiesta is the #1 affordable car among Altis, Honda Civic, Skoda Fabia. SX4, Linea and bunch of other cars - Ref Auto Bild - July.

Also check - some one has posted a comparitive details about Ford's service cost vs others.

Hello,

your said ur monthly run will be 1000-1200kms so better you go for any petrol sedan it will surely cost u less but as u said u wanna keep your car for long thn i would say gp for diesel one coz whenever u will go for a long drive u will surely smile in terms of running cost, and for this i am suggesting you for ford fiesta tdci, as i am the owner of fiesta and it has done 59315kms till today, lots of rough roads arround d corners and my own quote for it, FORD CAN AFFORD THESE JERKS :),its old thinking that its very costly to maintain a ford, my friend its not fact now, just go for it and buy 2 yrs extended warrenty as well as i am going to buy 4th year extended warrenty for 7077/= rs and it will cover 4th year and 1.50lac kms.

so now its up to u......pick the smart choice as anyone can proudly say..fiesta is Driver's car...one can surely enjoy the ride..

hav fun..

fiesta diesel can give u better mileage with adequate pick up as compared to others. The comfort, build and handling is also good.Fords are no more expensive to maintain and is gud for tough roads

For a self driven car and for driving pleasure, Fiesta beats all, followed by the City. As Vishveshwaran pointed out, Ford dealers are notorious. I have put my car buying process on my blog, maybe that will hep u http://shib4u.blogspot.com/
