Hi,
There are many features that are upgraded in newer version including upholstery, passenger information system, etc. As for as 2001 model 220 cdi is concerned, it can be bought for max of 15 lac. Posted: 825 days ago |

The Max. price that could be offered is 8-9 lacs not 15 lacs. In 15 laccs you can buy yourself merc S class.

Hi,
If the car is C class then the price for 2001 model could be around 9 lac. If its E class then it could be bit higher. Mr Rowter, Thank you for the feedback.Clearly I am not against AT versions.I have recomended to stay with Manual transmission instead getting it replaced with AT version investing around 1 lac. I am also of the openion that AT versions is easy to handle in heavy traffic conditions. Posted: 824 days ago |

Dear Mr. Shiv Shankar,
I know that it's pretty hard to find good cars in the used car segment. I for instance was looking for a top quality E250 diesel W124 (pre 1998). There were cars of all kinds available and I saw 40 cars (E 250 Diesels)but I found only 2 which were in decent condition One was a 1993 model with AT and sunroof, but no service records (asking price Rs. 5 lakhs, and one Indian car 1996 model asking price Rs.6 lakhs.) I chose the second one and bargained and got the car for a decent price. But it is plainly evident that it is better to buy a good old Benz than almost any of the new cars available at 15 lakhs. I considered several in that range and am convinced that I made the right choice. The point I want to emphasize here is that you got to pay more for excellent old cars. The price of cars older than 20 years may not even depreciate if it is a Benz. I know people who are willing to pay upwards of 4 lakhs for a 123 series Benz in excellent condition. I also know of several 124 series cars begging even sub 2 lakhs! But the buyer beware, you may end up paying Rs. 5 to 8 lakhs on repairs! Ronny. Posted: 794 days ago |
