Hello all,

I have a problem with my maruti 800 and I am not able to figure out what to do.
I recently changed my battery as I was not able to get ignition and was hearing only a click 'sound' on turning the key.

The ignition is fine after the battery change but something strange happened. The other day I was revving the engine for a minute of two and while idling the engine died out and it refused to start even after multiple attempts. Fearing that the battery will lose charge i stopped trying. After an hour I tried again and this time the engine started at first go. I did not take the car out thinking that it might stop abruptly on the road somewhere.

Planning to take it to a mechanic and i thought of taking an opinion on the forums as to what could be the fault.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Ask your mechnic to check self and wiring side of your engine, fuel pump wiring.
You can also get your fuel pump serviced. Change fuel filters. Take a look when you had got your car serviced last time, that will make you more clear whether to change oil and oil filter. Take care.

If your car battery is as old as 15 to 18 months then first check it with any battery shop for its gravity. Generally life of the car battery is about 18 months 2 years. if one of the battery cell is week then it will certainly give you trouble in cold start.Only option is to get new battery.

Hi,
For the kind of problem facing, the cause could be the weak battery, poor contact atthe distributor etc.The remedy is to get the battery checked and get the engine tuning done along with ignition time setting done.
