Skoda and VW are sister companies and Used Same Engines and Spares... I have a Superb from last 1.5 years... It accelerate like rockets and even i drive it to red line rpms, average is decent in petrol of 11-12 kmpl. riding is good.

First and foremost Passat is not available in Petrol in India as of now. You can definitely go for Superb petrol and there is no problem in this car. Now comparing Passat and Superb (diesel models) both of them are close competitors, you must be knowing Volkswagen is parent company of Skoda. Good looks, fit and finish, presence on road, better handling all these are in DNA of German cars. If you consider performance Passat and Superb is powered with 2 L diesel engine, only a bit of engine tune has made Passat more powerful. Passat delivers astonishing 170 PS @ 4200 RPM and a torque of 350 NM @ 1750 RPM on the contrary Superb's power is 140 PS @ 4200 and the torque is 320 NM @ 1750, which is decent enough for city and highway driving in India. Now if you look at other aspects like space and over all dimensions Superb should be the choice as is has got longer wheelbase (Passat 2711 mm and Superb 2761 mm). Superb is even taller (Passat 1470 mm and Superb 1482 mm) so you get better head room and comfort in the car. Even the ground clearance (Passat 150 mm and Superb 158 mm) Superb is a notch back, where you can open the trunk, and you can open the rear wind shield also. This is something I personally like about superb.
If I had to choose from this two options I would have definitely gone ahead with Superb. Also like to recommend you this car.
