You will have to spend about an additional 3 lac to sell your car and purchase another diesel. Difference in running cost between the estilo (about 5.5/- per km considering an average of 13kmpl) and diesel (about 2.5/- per km considering an average of 18kmpl in the city) is around Rs.3/- per km. You will have to run the diesel car for 1 lakh kms to cover the cost which at your usage will take about 14 years. The call is yours but if I were you i'd stick to the petrol. Btw i personally use a petrol Honda city vtech.

Go for Chevorlet Beat Diesel, a very nice car and a very reasonable price.

Hi,
Considering the mileage you can get with Zen estillo, loss of value during resale, investment for getting new diesel car etc..it would be worth using the same for sometime more.May be part of the the extra investment you will have to make on going for diesel can be diverted for petrol expenditure.

Considering your usage 20 k.m/ per day or even 800 k.m./ per month, diesel car is not at all advisable. If monthly running is minimum 1600 k.m. and above , then only it is o.k. to go for diesel car, so as to reach the break even point between petrol car and diesel car as far as costs are concerned.
